PALO VISTA Health & Wellness Resource Fair 2024

The Senior Community Foundation actively participated in the PALO VISTA Health & Wellness Resource Fair 2024 organized by the Oakland Housing Authority. This event aimed to enhance the health awareness and quality of life of community residents, attracting numerous community members. At the fair, the foundation arranged a series of engaging activities for the elderly. First, they organized Zumba dance classes. Zumba combines dance and aerobic exercises, allowing seniors to work out to enjoyable music while boosting their interest in physical activity and energy. Many seniors eagerly participated, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere. Additionally, the foundation set up a blood pressure measurement station, offering free blood pressure checks. This service aimed to help seniors monitor their blood pressure and increase awareness of common conditions like hypertension. Professional medical volunteers patiently measured blood pressure and provided health advice, earning widespread praise. Lastly, the foundation featured a photo booth where seniors could take fun photos to create lasting memories. These photos not only added to the event's fun but also made seniors feel cared for and valued. By participating in this fair, the Senior Community Foundation demonstrated its commitment to the elderly and played an active role in promoting healthy lifestyles. The foundation hopes these activities help more seniors enjoy a healthy and happy life.
